Carterville – The Logan baseball team season comes to an end after a disappointing loss in the Championship Round of the Region XXIV tournament over the weekend. The Vols would drop game one of the tournament, but would battle back winning the next two games against SWIC and Rend Lake before falling to Olney Central in the championship. Logan would finish the season with an overall 38-16 record and 22-5 GRAC record; which was good enough to earn Logan's fourth straight conference title. The sophomore class would finish their Volunteer career with a record of 78-29.

The Vols would send four players to the All-GRAC team, with Trey Riley earning Co-Pitcher Of the Year. Riley finished the year 6-2 with an 1.85 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 77.2 innings pitched. The 117 strikeouts would put Riley at 5^th in the nation and help him make the All-Region XXIV Team. Tanner Gordon (9-2 with a 2.06 ERA, 104 strikeouts in 70 IP) and Brenden Heiss (8-1 with a 2.24 ERA, 80 strikeouts in 56.1 IP) also had great years on the bump for the Vols, each earning All-GRAC honors. AJ Lewis would hit .398 with six doubles and two home runs in GRAC play (.329, 13 2Bs, 3 HRs, total) to earn the lone All-GRAC honor for a Vol position player. Offensively the Vols used a balanced attack, led by sophomore Collin Clayton who hit .397 with 22 doubles, three triples, and one home run; Blake Johnson would come back from injury to hit .345 with eight doubles, three triples, and nine homers; while Jeremy Gaines, Jack Wilson, and Hunter Combs would all hit above .300. Jack Wilson led the team with 14 home runs on the year.

The Logan baseball team also continued their tradition of sending players on to the next level. The Vols will have 13 players moving on to play next year at 4-year universities; 10 of which will be at the NCAA Division 1 level.
