CARTERVILLE – The John A. Logan Volunteers started league play with a resounding 102-71 win over Lincoln Trail.  The Vols are undefeated with a record of 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference.

Logan dominated play, leading 51-31 at the half and leading by as many as 42 points in the second half. Six players scored in double-figures led by 17 points for both Jaiveon Eaves and Vonnie Patterson. Quamain Nelson had 13 points, Derek Hawthorne and David Sloan each had 11 and Romelo Burrell had 10 to round out the top scorers.

Burrell led all rebounders with 12 as Logan out rebounded the Statesmen 57-32.

Logan will return to action on Tuesday night at Shawnee in a 7:30 p.m. game.
