CARTERVILLE — The John A. Logan Volunteers jumped to a 19-0 lead in the first six minutes and then methodically beat a good Three Rivers College team, 95-81.

The Vols, 9-1 and ranked 15th nationally, were led by Ronnie Carson with 20 points while Jaiveon Eaves had 19 and Derek Hawthorne and Quamain Nelson each had 10.

"I'm really proud of our guys," said Logan coach Kyle Smithpeters. "To beat Three Rivers twice in one season is really quite a feat. It was also good to move from 19th to 15th in the NJCAA national poll."

Three Rivers had an eight-game win streak halted and stands 9-3 on the season with two of their losses to Logan. The Volunteers play West Kentucky Tech on Thursday in Paducah at 6 p.m.
