Logan Men Lose on Last Second Shot

BELLEVILLE — Braden Fitzjerrels scored at the buzzer to give Southwestern Illinois an 83-81 victory over John A. Logan on Wednesday night.

After trailing by as many as 12 points in the second half, the Blue Storm tied the game at 81 on a triple by Destan Williams. After a charging call against Logan's David Sloan, SWIC got the ball with 3.8 seconds remaining. Fitzjerrels took the inbounds pass and raced the length of the court before pulling up in the lane for the game winner.

SWIC, 13-2 and 6-1, was led by Javonte Perkins with 22 points. Logan,13-4 and 4-3, was led by Jaiveon Eaves with 16 points. The Vols will host Wabash Valley in a key conference game at 3 p.m. Saturday.
