Logan Men Use Big Second Half to Defeat Rend Lake 81-58

CARTERVILLE, IL — John A. Logan used a 15-0 run early in the second half to pull away from Rend Lake College on the way to a 81-58 win over the Warriors on Saturday afternoon.

The game was tied 35-35 at the half, but Logan came out with a strong defensive effort to record the win that leaves the Volunteers, 18-4 and 9-3, With Logan leading 50-47 early in the second half, Logan went on the 15-0 run to go up 65-47 and the rout was on.

The run was keyed by a pair of 3-pointers by Jonah Jackson who finished 3-6 from three for 9 points. David Sloan, who leads the nation in assists had 14 assists and 13 points while Vonnie Patterson added 13 points and Derek Hawthorne and Jaiveon Eaves had 12 points each.

Rend Lake, 3-19 and 1-11, was led by Juwan Moore with 18 points.
