Logan Races Past Lewis & Clark, 104-66

CARTERVILLE, IL — With a ball hawking defense and a clinical fast break offense, the John A. Logan Volunteers won their sixth straight game with a 104-66 trouncing of Lewis & Clark on Wednesday night.

As both teams came out the gates shooting well from the field, the Vols went on an explosive 30-5 run late in the first 20 minutes after being tied at 23-23. The large run gave the Vols a 62-38 halftime cushion.

Logan, 19-4 and 10-3, had six players in double figures with David Sloan recording an impressive triple double with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 16 assists. Javeon Eaves lead the scoring column with 22, followed by Sloan's 15. Vonnie Patterson had 13, while Derek Hawthorne, Melo Burrell, and Ronnie Carson all pitched in 11.

Lewis & Clark, 11-10, was led by Dionte Raines with 20 points.

Logan is back in action Saturday, February 10th as they go to Southeastern Illinois College at 3pm.
