Logan Basketball Ranked 22nd In the Nation

CARTERVILLE, IL — With one regular season game remaining, the John A. Logan basketball team has moved back into the NJCAA national rankings at 22nd. The Massey Rankings poll has the Volunteers sitting at 14th in the country. The Volunteers, 24-5 overall and 14-3 in the conference, will play their final home game of the season Friday, March 2nd at 7 pm.

The Vols, who clinched a share of the conference title with an 83-80 win over a Wabash Valley team that had won eighth straight games, can claim the outright title with a home win over Kaskaskia on Friday night.

Kaskaskia has won five straight games and is battling for a favorable seed in the District Tournament that begins next week. A win for Logan makes the Vols the second seeded team behind Vincennes, ranked third in the latest national poll.

Freshman point guard David Sloan continues to lead the nation in assists with 9.4 per game. He had 15 assists and 10 points for a double-double in the win over Wabash Valley.
