Logan Sweeps Individual Basketball Honors in the Conference and Region

CARTERVILLE, IL — John A. Logan earned all the individual honors in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and NJCAA Region 24 as they finished the season with an overall record of 26-6. Jaiveon Eaves was named Player of the Year, David Sloan was named Freshman of the Year, and Kyle Smithpeters was voted Coach of the Year.

Vonnie Patterson was also named to the all-conference and all region teams along with Eaves and Sloan. Eaves, a sophomore from Madisonville, KY, averaged 16.1 points, and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Sloan, a freshman from Louisville, KY, averaged 12 points, 3.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game. He led the nation in assists.

Patterson, a freshman from Louisville, averaged 11.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

Smithpeters guided the Volunteers to a record of 26-6 and the conference championship. He has a record of 139-51 in six years as the head coach at Logan.
