Logan Signs One of Top Kentucky High School Players

CARTERVILLE, IL -- Jay Scrubb, the Region Seven Player of the Year in Kentucky, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at John A. Logan.

A 6-6 guard/forward, Scrubb averaged 17.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for Trinity High School in Louisville.  He was named the Seventh Region Player of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches and the Courier Journal.

"Jay is a great kid with a lot of tools," said Logan coach Kyle Smithpeters.  "He has point guard skills and can step out and make threes.  He brings great versatility and should step right in."

Scrubb indicated Smithpeters came to see him play during the season and they bonded right away. "Logan is a great situation for me and will help me advance to the next level," Scrubb said.  "Logan coach Smithpeters was a young coach and I liked him a lot."
