Game 1 Recap:
Calli Sutcliffe threw a gem today against RLC. Sutcliffe allowed zero runs and besting Rend Lake Warriors by a score of 8-0. Sutcliffe led things off in the pitcher's circle for the Lady Vols. She surrendered zero runs on four hits over five innings, striking out two. The Lady Vols racked up ten hits on the day. Sydney Monje and Gleason each managed multiple hits. Monje went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Volunteers. Lady Vols were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Lexi Childers made the most plays with four.

The Lady Vols secured the victory thanks to five runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Josie Gleason and Lexi Middendorf and a walk by Rebecca Moffett. Volunteers scored five runs in the fourth inning with big bats led by Gleason , Moffett, and Middendorf, who all drove the runs.

Game 2 Recap: 
Sydney Monje was bad news for opposing pitchers in game two, driving in four on three hits to lead the Volunteers past Rend Lake Warriors 10-4. Monje drove in runs on a double in the third, a double in the fourth, and a single in the fifth. The Lady Vols earned the victory despite allowing Rend Lake Warriors to score three runs in the third inning. Volunteers got on the board in the second inning scoring one run when Danyelle Eilers singled.

Volunteers pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Lexi Childers tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Monje doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, and Montana Taylor doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Sydney Levan was the winning pitcher for the Volunteers. She surrendered four runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out seven. Volunteers collected 13 hits. Monje, Taylor, and Eilers all managed multiple hits. Taylor and Monje each managed three hits to lead the Volunteers.

Update for this week's game schedule: Thursday's game against SIC has been moved to home at 2pm and 4pm.
