Moffett Commits to Illinois State

Sophomore shortstop Rebecca Moffett has committed to Division 1 Illinois State University to continue her softball career. Moffett has been the starting shortstop for the Lady Vols the past two seasons achieving several athletic awards. Moffett was named All Conference and All-Region All Tournament Team her freshman year and ended the season with a .447BA, .466OBP, 13SB, 4HR, and 52RBI. Moffett ended her sophomore season with a .395BA, .448OBP, 7HR, 20SB, and 43RBI. Moffett also made the All-Region Team and the Region 24 All-Tournament Team.

Coach Orsburn-Siefert stated, "Rebecca has been a leader on the field since she stepped foot on John A Logan's campus. Moffet has been a two year starter and developed into a well rounded athlete for the Lady Vols. Rebecca has the ability to compete at the highest level and I am so excited for her to get the opportunity to play at the next level. Rebecca will be playing for a Missouri Valley contender year in and year out and in great hands with Coach Fischer and staff."

The JALC coaching staff couldn't think of a more deserving athlete to participate at the next level and represent our program!

We wish Rebecca and the Lady Redbirds the best of luck next season.

GO VOLS!
