MATTOON — The John A. Logan women's basketball team earned a key Great Rivers Athletic Conference road win with an 81-69 decision over Lake Land College on Saturday night.

Logan jumped to an early lead and held off numerous Laker comebacks to claim the win. The Lady Vols outscored the Lakers in every quarter with a balanced scoring attack led by Shaniya Whitsell's 17 points. Destiny Cozart had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Farasia Hodge had 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Skylar Miller added 11 points.

The Lady Vols are now 11-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference. Lake Land is 12-6 and 3-3.
