Logan Women Gain Road Win at Southwestern Illinois

BELLEVILLE — Skylar Miller scored 16 points to lead the John A. Logan women's basketball team to a 75-72 road win over Southwestern Illinois on Wednesday night.

Trailing 70-69 late in the game, Miller sank a 3-pointer to give the Lady Vols a 72-70 lead and they held on for the victory. Logan, 12-4 and 6-1, led 47-35 at the half, but the Blue Storm outscored the Lady Vols 24-14 in the third quarter to take a 61-59 lead going into the final quarter. Darasia Hodge and Miriah Donalson each had 11 points to ensure the victory.

Logan will host Wabash Valley in a battle for first place in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference on Saturday at 1 p.m.
