Logan Women Defeat SIC 77-56

HARRISBURG — The John A. Logan women's basketball team climbed into second place in the conference with a 77-56 win over Southeastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon.

Logan, 16-7 overall and 9-4 in the league moved ahead of the "Falcons" who are 11-11 and 8-4.

The Lady Vols pulled away in the second half after leading 35-29 at the half. In the third quarter Logan out scored the Falcons 25-12 and won going away.

Logan had a balanced scoring attack with six players scoring in double figures. Leading the way was Shaniya Whitsell with 14 points, Destiny Cozart 13, and Kaili Bacon had 12 and Skylar Miller, Alicia Hornbuckle, and Miriah Donelson all had 10.

The Falcons were led by Raven Brown with 16.
