Carterville--Destiny Cozart who won all-conference, all-region, and honorable mention
All-American honors at John A. Logan has signed a national letter of intent to attend Missouri
Southern State University on a basketball scholarship.
Missouri Southern is an NCAA Division II school in Joplin, Missouri. The Lions are coached by
Ronnie Ressel a former coach at Rend Lake College.
"Missouri Southern is a big school with a small school feel," said Cozart. "They made me
feel wanted and my teammates were all very friendly. They play a style much like Logan
although they don't run that many plays. They just get up and go and I can definitely get
up and go."
In a news release, Coach Ressel said, "Destiny can have an immediate impact on our
program with her ability to score at all three levels, from the 3, mid-range, and at the basket.
She sees the floor like a point guard which I think is one of her strongest parts of her game."
"Destiny has grown as a player and as a person in her two years at Logan," said Logan coach
Amanda Shelby. "She was a huge difference maker that led to our success. She leaves Logan
with a lot of success and will continue that success at Missouri Southern as an impact player.
It will be hard to replace her next year."
