Logan Hires Women's Assistant Basketball Coach

John A. Logan College has hired an assistant women's basketball coach with a championship background.

Kelsey Williams joins the Logan staff after playing on the NCAA Division II championship team at Central Missouri last season. She also led her high school team at Eminence, Mo., to a first ever state championship in basketball and played on the state championship volleyball team.

"We are excited to have Kelsey join our coaching staff" said Logan coach Amanda Shelby. "She has great enthusiasm and is a real go getter who knows how to win championships."

Williams is the all-time leading scorer at Eminence with 1,925 points and was named to the All-Tournament team at the NCAA Division II finals. She claimed the MIAA conference Academic Excellence Award with a 4.0 grade point average for her college career.

"I am super excited to start my coaching career at John A. Logan," said Williams. "It is a great opportunity to be mentored by Coach Shelby. I am ready to get to work. We have a young team but we have the talent to get things done."

Logan, 22-9 last season, opens the 2018-19 season on Nov. 3 with a home game against Lindenwood-Bell
