CARTERVILLE, IL- The John A Logan Lady Volunteers defeat Kaskaskia College Lady Blue Angels with a final score of 84-55. With tonight's win, the Lady Vols improve their record to 12-9.
The Lady Vols came out shooting well in the first half scoring 40 points but they struggled on the defensive end allowing the Lady Angels to score 35 points. The Vols pulled away in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Lady Angels 21-11. The Lady Vols never let up from that point forward and they ended up outscoring the Lady Blue Angels 84-55.
Freshman, Emily Holmes, ended the night 4-11 from the 3 point line and scored an overall 14 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists. Sophomore, Nia Marshall, added 13 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Freshman, Kalveona Pepper, 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 steals.
The Lady Vols move to 12-9 on the season. The Lady Vols will host Shawnee College on 2/2 @ 1:00pm in Carterville, IL.
