BELLEVILLE, IL- The John A Logan Lady Volunteers lose to SWIC with a final score of 51-55. With tonight's loss, the Lady Vols record moves to 13-12 overall.
The game was nip and tuck throughout but the Lady Vols came up just short after a tough battle at the end. The Vols struggled offensively the first half only scoring 22 points to SWIC's 23. Although the game was only a one-point differential at half-time, the Lady Vols still couldn't seem to get an offensive flow going and it showed when they only scored 7 points in the 3rd quarter to SWIC's 12. In the 4th quarter, the Vols showed signs of energy and tough defense but SWIC answered back by knocking down late shots and free throws that kept the game out of reach and the Vols fell 51-55.
Freshman, Kalveona Pepper, ended the night with 12 points and 1 block. Sophomore, Alicia Hornbuckle, had 6 points and 5 assists.
The Lady Vols record moves to 13-12 on the season. The Lady Vols will travel to Lake Land College College in Mattoon, Illinois on Wednesday, February 20, tip-off is set for 5:30
