CARTERVILLE - The Vols would crank out 19 and get two quality starts en route to the 8-2 and 7-0 doubleheader sweep of Shawnee CC on Tuesday. The wins puts Logan at 28-13 overall and 15-4 in GRAC play. JALC will be back in action on Thursday when they open a series with Red Lake with a single 9-inning game at Logan; first pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.

In game one the Vols got things going in the 3rd when Collin Clayton would double home Blake Johnson and Jack Wilson would follow up with a two run blast to right to give Logan a 3-0 lead. Logan would add to the lead in 4th and 5th with single runs before putting the game out of reach in the 8th with a three spot. Blake Johnson would lead the way offensively, going 3-6 with a double. Collin Clayton and Cameron Touchette would add two hits each. Justin Bauresachs (3-1) would get the win, going seven strong innings while giving up two runs on six hits and striking out one. Joe Darlin would pitch a perfect two innings out of the bullpen.

Game two saw the Vols jump ahead right away, with a three run first, highlighted by a two RBI double from Cameron Touchette. Logan would add another three spot for good measure in the third and round out the scoring in the 4th on a solo shot from Jack Wilson, his second of the day and ninth of the year. Starter Hunter Sullivan (3-1) would shut down the Saints offense, throwing six shutout innings, only giving up six hits while striking out five and picking up the win. Kyle Ostrowski would finish the game out throwing a scoreless 7th while striking out one. Offensively,  Collin Clayton and AJ Lewis would led the charge with two hits each, while Sam Frontino, Cameron Touchette, and Jack Wilson would add a hit a piece.
