Carterville, IL - The Logan Volunteers controlled the game from start to finish, beating Frontier CC 19-0 on Thursday. The win puts the Vols at 23-5 on the year and 6-2 in Region XXIV play (5-2 in GRAC play). The rest of the three game sereis with the Bobcats will conclude on Monday, with the forecasted rain pushing the final two games back; initially the doubleheader was scheduled for Saturday in Fairfield.

After a seven-pitch, three-up, three-down top of the 1st, Logan would jump out of the gates hot in the bottom half. Luke Brown would get it started with a lead-off double followed by a walk and hit-by-pitch would set up Ashton Creal clearing the bases with a 3-RBI double. Three pitches later Cody Jansen would hit a two-run blast to center to give Logan an early 5-0 lead. In the 2nd the Vols would add three more runs highlighted by RBI doubles from Hunter Sullivan and Sam Frontino.

After a quiet 3rd. The Vols bats would push the game out of reach scoring five in the 4th and six in the 5th to push the score to 19-0. Each Logan starter would collect a hit with Cody Jansen leading the charge with a 3-4, three runs scored and three RBI day. Zach Parks would add two hits and five RBI including a home run, while Ashton Creal wouldn't be left out with two hits and three RBI of his own. Luke Brown and Cameron Langston would also collect two hits each.

Jeffrey Purnell (5-0) would keep the Bobcats down, pitching an efficient five innings only giving up two hits while striking out four, en route to his fifth victory of the year. Justin Bauersachs and Cameron Robinson would pitch scoreless innings out of the pen to finish off the game.
