Vols Drop to Ranked Lake Land College

Lady Vols had to travel to Lakeland College due to weather conditions at John A Logan on March 6th.

In game one,  the Vols started the game hot by scoring 3 runs in the first but were unable to maintain the momentum losing 12-4 in six innings.  In game two, it was an almost an identical scenario.  Leading 3-0 through five complete innings, the Vols fell again losing 4-3.

In defense to the outcome, many bright spots presented themselves during the frigid temperatures, snow, and wind.  Coach Orsburn-Siefert stated that she is very happy with the teams defensive development and feels as if the offensive side is beginning to shine.

Freshman Rebecca Moffett (Herrin) stood out at the plate today going 3-6 with 2 doubles.  Sophomore Taja Dedecker  (Carbondale) went 4-6 with 3 doubles as well as sophomore Lynnsay Wilson (Christopher) going 2-6 to help lead the Vols.

The team will return to play Friday March 9th at SWIC for their next GRAC Series.
