Lady Vols Win First Conference Series

The Lady Vols took two from SWIC today for their home opener.  The Lady Vols had a slow start to their first game allowing SWIC to get on the scoreboard first with one run in the second inning.  The Vols bounced back gaining a 5-3 victory to start off their conference schedule.  Sophomores Mikayla Chamness and Rebecca Moffett both had two hits to lead the team offensively. Rebecca Moffett started the offense off in the third inning gaining her first homerun of the season.  Sydney Levan picked up her third win of the season only allowing two earned runs. 

In the second game, the Lady Vols bats came alive tallying twelve hits and winning 7-1. Freshman Jaelin King took charge offensively going 4-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.  Freshman counterparts Montana Taylor and Brittney Proctor were both 2-4 and freshman Danyelle Eilers picked up her first homerun of the season to help lead the Lady Vols. Freshman Calli Sutcliffe pitched a three hitter gaining her second win of the season.

The Lady Vols return back to conference action on Thursday at home against Kaskaskia at 2 and 4.  GO VOLS!
