Game 1 Recap: 

Makayla  Smothers collected four hits in four at bats, as John A. Logan College Volunteers  defeated Lincoln Trail College Lady Statesmen Varsity 8-5.  Smothers singled in the second, singled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and homered in the sixth.

Volunteers earned the victory despite allowing the Lady Statesmen to score three runs in the third inning.  The Lady Volunteers took an early lead in the second inning.  Brittany  Proctor drove in one when she singled.  The Volunteers took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Lexi  Childers doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Calli Sutcliffe was the winning pitcher for the Lady Vols . She lasted four and a third innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out five and walking one. Macie Lester started the game for the Volunteers. She allowed four hits and four runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

The Lady Volunteers tallied one home run in game one. Smothers had a long ball in the sixth inning. Lady Volunteers totaled 12 hits.  Smothers, Childers, and Rebecca Moffett all managed multiple hits.  Smothers led the Lady Vols with four hits in four at bats.  Moffett led with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.  Volunteers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. 

Game 2 Recap: 

John A. Logan College Volunteers sailed to an easy victory over Lincoln Trail College Lady Statesmen Varsity 13-1 in game two.

Volunteers  opened up scoring in the first inning.  Rebecca Moffett hit a solo homer. The Lady Vols tallied six runs in the third inning.  The big inning was thanks to a triple by Makayla  Smothers, a single by Moffett, and a double by Montana Taylor.

Sydney  Levan  took the win for the Volunteers. She allowed three hits and one run over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Volunteers launched two home runs in game two. Moffett had a long ball in the first inning. Josie Gleason had a long ball in the fifth inning. Volunteers racked up ten hits in the game.  Gleason , Smothers, and Moffett each collected multiple hits for the Volunteers .  Moffett, Smothers, and Gleason all had two hits to lead John A. Logan College Volunteers.
