Volleyball Team Moves to 4-0 in Conference Play after a Win at Wabash Valley

The quality conference start continued for the Vols at Wabash Valley Wednesday night. The team swept Wabash on their home court in three straight games. Scores were 25-19, 25-21, 25-13.

The vols were led by freshman Outside Hitter Kim Hall. She had a very solid all-around match and contributed 9 kills and 17 digs. Also playing a prominent role was freshman Middle Hitter Kameryn Sillmon. She finished the night leading the team with 11 kills and 5 blocks. Sophomore setter Shelbey Saye led with 21 assists on the night and Sophomore Taytum Murdock added 4 service aces.

Coach Burnside was happy overall with the performance on the road, saying, "This was a pretty mature performance overall. Wabash played a very unconventional style and got us off our game several times in the match, but we were able to respond each time we were in a difficult situation. In the first two games, their fans were involved and creating excitement. The games were close. At the end of each of those sets, we were able to execute our offense and pull away for the win."
