Logan Continues Undefeated Conference Streak with Win at Lincoln Trail

Despite the long road trip on a weekday night and a variety of nagging injuries which caused significant adjustments to the lineup, the Vols were able to put together a solid performance at Robinson, IL to defeat Lincoln Trail 25-16, 25-19, 25-17.

The Vols were led by excellent performances from both starting outside hitters. Kim Hall once again showed her consistency and led the team with 16 kills and added 12 digs. In 3 games of work, Kim had only one hitting error and ended up hitting .536 for the night. Freshman outside Olivia Hallet also had an amazing night with 14 kills with a hitting efficiency of .393 and 12 digs. Sophomore setter Shelbey Saye led the team with 21 assists.

"Our outside hitters really had an amazing night. We pointed out a couple different weaknesses in the Lincoln Trail defense that our outsides could attack, and they did so very effectively. Although we struggled with our passing and ball control, we were able to make up for that deficiency with aggressive outside hitting. We also were able to move those girls around more than usual, allowing them to attack the defense from a variety of positions. It worked out well last night, and hopefully added a dimension to our offense for the future," said Coach Burnside.
