Kosmopolis Awarded for All-Around Contributions

Lexi Kosmopolis

This season, O'Fallon, Illinois native, Lexi Kosmopolis was named to the All-Region 1st Team. As a freshman, she stood out to other coaches in our region and was named as one of the top 12 players in the area.

Lexi's contributions as an outside hitter were mostly on the offensive side which is crucial as an aggressive attacker. She was consistent throughout the season and led the team in overall kills with a total of 240 and in kills-per-set with 2.82. When it came to serving, she was tied with Ashton Hirst to lead the team with 24 total aces.

On the defensive side, Lexi was second in digs with a total of 224 digs and 2.64 digs-per-set. Being an all-around player, defense and passing are crucial and Lexi executed them very well.

According to Assistant Coach Bryleigh Buchanan, "Lexi always came into practice ready to work and eager to learn new techniques all while maintaining a positive attitude. She's a great team player and works hard on the court and in the classroom."

As we prepare for 2023, Head Coach Burnside states, "I'm very excited to see what Lexi will do next season. She was very productive this season and I think with a whole off-season to grow her game she is going to be a huge factor for us next year. I've already seen dramatic improvement with some of her skills. With her positive attitude and work ethic, I believe she will get even more efficient during the spring."
